The Fallas already beat in Valencia and, faithful to their essence, return accompanied by the unmistakeable smell of gunpowder. The first mascletà of the 2026 pyrotechnic calendar will be shot this Sunday, March 1 and will be signed by Pirotecnia Peñarroja. As a novelty this year, each show will have its own identity; the one that will open the cycle is presented under the name 'One, two, three'.
The falleras mayores of Valencia 2026, Carmen Prades and Marta Mercader, will give the order to start with the traditional "Senyor pirotècnic, pot commencer la mascletà". A phrase that, punctually at 2 pm, will once again turn the Town Hall square into the sound epicentre of the city.
Pirotecnia Peñarroja, a family business run by José Vicente Nebot Peñarroja, has been shooting in the Town Hall square since 1993. Also responsible for the 2022 Cridà show, the firm inaugurates the mascletaes by tradition and by its own free will every March 1, keeping alive an appointment that is already part of the festive pulse of the city.
