Wolverine Display Fireworks, Inc. is a direct importer, wholesaler and display fireworks company located in the mid-west. Though we shoot 120 to 150 firework displays per year, a major portion of our business is importing and wholesaling display fireworks. We are the guys in the background who wholesale to some of the largest, most well known display companies in the world.

In addition to importing the U.S. Designers(TM) brand (our exclusive line of patented display fireworks) we also stock several other brands of aerial shells and pyrotechnic devices. Japanese made Hanabi brand are known to be the best display shells in the industry of display fireworks and Wolverine is the only company who directly imports these shells from Japan into the United States.

Where most display companies stock between 75 and 150 different types of pyrotechnic devices, Wolverine stocks between 1,500 and 1,800 different types of pyrotechnic devices. This assures you will have a huge variety of effects in your show!

COMPANY HISTORY
It was the year 1979 that Jim Lambert and Allan Streu of Bay City, Michigan had realized their "on-the-side" hobby of selling fireworks was beginning to justify the creation of a structured company.

Thus - Wolverine Display Fireworks, Inc. was created and the two sole owners stepped into a formal partnership of wholesaling display fireworks.

On a shoestring budget, Jim and Al limped the company along for several years by working evenings and weekends, in addition to any vacation time they took from their full-time jobs in a serious effort to make a go of things.

The year of 1989 posed a crossroads for the two owners by making it evidently clear the only way the company was going to grow large enough to financially support them, was for one of them to work at it full-time. Upon pondering the risks of leaving their current full-time jobs and leaping into financial uncertainty, Jim Lambert began working on wholesaling fireworks on a full-time basis. Allan continued working his full-time job for several more years, while working on the accounting, show sales and marketing for Wolverine during his evenings and weekends.

1985 - Travel to a foreign land that was lacking some of the most basic items we take for granted and ask them to build you an exclusive line of fireworks you are going to put your name on and sell throughout the world??? Yeap, this is how Wolverine has evolved into one of the largest importers of Chinese fireworks and retains ownership of the patented line of fireworks known as the U.S. Designers brand.

Originally, Wolverine would send a pyrotechnician to China for several months every year to oversee the production of their orders. This not only required shipping the necessary chemicals to be used in their fireworks formulas, but also such things as; paper, cardboard, adhesives, fuse, packing materials, etc. It was in this process of working with several Chinese manufacturers to develop the U.S. Designers line of fireworks that many lessons were learned and several genuine relationships were created.

Now, Jim and Al enjoy the fruits of their labor by working exclusively with some of the top manufacturers throughout Mainland China and Japan to produce a wide range of quality fireworks and pyrotechnic devices.

Because Wolverine's buying power is one of the largest in China, the company receives volume discount pricing unattainable by others. In turn, Wolverine passes these savings on to you!
