Hello Luqa-Malta,
let me first apologize for not coming back at you in English right away
The comment in Dutch underneath your post is a kind of explanation of Maltese folklore that
includes a rivalry between the numerous Maltese fireworks clubs. Visiting the Qrendi festa I was amazed by the
very strong police presence and one of the villagers explained that it was because there was a fight
the year before between 2 firework club members/supportes. (Having seen soccer hooligans here in Holland I didn't think much of it.)
My Maltese holidays were absolute superb, amazing fireworks, nice weather, incredible historic
sites and very kind and hospitable people.
The "other club" invited me to their club house and I was welcomed very friendly by their president.
(see picture.)
It was only after coming back to Holland and reading your caption in the English section of this
forum that I became aware there is more than one club at Luqa.
.
I thank you for correcting my blaring misstakes with the names of factories and pyro-teams.
My excuse is that I had to rely on the info given to me bij local Maltese people.
I hope to return to Malta next year and perhaps we can have a meeting.
Most friendly greetings
Jim (sisser)
