Ken Livingstone has confirmed that the London Eye and the South Bank will once again be at the centre of the capital's New Year fireworks display.
This New Year's Eve London will be lit up with a fireworks display at the British Airways London Eye organised by the Mayor of London in conjunction with Visit London.
Last year around 150,000 people are estimated to have watched fireworks and lighting display with millions more seeing the it on television across the UK and overseas.
"London now hosts the best New Year's Eve fireworks display in the world and is seen on TV by millions in Britain and tens of millions internationally," says Ken Livingstone, Mayor of London. "The New Year's Eve fireworks are another spectacle making London a wonderful city to visit over Christmas and the New Year."
The announcement follows successful displays in 2004, 2005 and 2006.
The 2007 display is being produced by award-winning London based experiential communications agency Jack Morton Worldwide and internationally renowned pyrotechnician Christophe Berthonneau.
The display is being designed to be big enough, and loud enough, to be seen from high ground, balconies and gardens all over the capital and will be screened uninterrupted live on BBC One.
