Camilleri Wines will be one of the official sponsors at the forthcoming Food and Fireworks Festival 2007 due between the 27th and the 30th April in Valletta. The event is expected to attract over 60,000 people and Camilleri Wines will be representing themselves with their la Croce brand of wines in all the 12 bars which will be set up at various posts in Valletta overlooking the Grand Harbour, the venue of the Fireworks display.

Besides being the exclusive wine to be served in all public areas to which the access will be free of charge, Camilleri Wines’ La Croce brand will also be the official wine on the quay adjacent to the lagoon in front of Valletta Waterfront. This area has in fact been earmarked as the VIP area and will be accommodating around 3,000 guests every night. Camilleri Wines will also be serving their wines during the various private functions that will be held by some of Malta’s major business organisations as part of this attractive annual festival.

“We are very proud to associate ourselves with this prestigious annual event that has now gained a solid place in Malta’s cultural calendar and we are looking forward to contribute to the success that such an event is bound to reap, said Etienne Mallia from Camilleri Wines’ sales and marketing team. “By being a main sponsor of this event, the organisers as well as Camilleri Wines will be ensuring a consistent flow of wine and will be attributing uniformity that is demanded of a high profile event like this. We have opted to enter this commitment with our La Croce wines because it is a wine that is much loved by the Maltese and because it portrays Malta’s distinctive character due to both the image and its genuine local taste, added Mr Mallia.

Composed from blends of locally-grown grapes and suitably branded with the distinct eight-pointed cross, La Croce was launched in August of last year signifying a step forward in establishing the true Maltese identity of Camilleri Wines. Since then, the product has managed to gain unprecedented popularity not only due to the high quality of the grape but also due to the distinctive classic Maltese branding. La Croce is easy to appreciate having straight-forward fruity, attractive qualities that give this brand a very versatile character and very enjoyable on its own or with light cuisine.
