Depend about types of fireworks.But nobody follow the rules...
legally?Only little fireworks.But many shop doesn't follow the rules.In december you can buy (legally) , if you are 18 years old , cakes with 6" shells.
Near UDINE (it is at the boarder with Austria e Slovenia) there are a shop where i buy every type of fireworks.It is one of major importer of china fireworks and it have a personal line of mini-bombs very very amazing.
You can buy (legally) mini bombs with 30gr of flash powder.The name is "EXPLOD" and it is the best (legal) craker sold in Italy.

Thanks dude! 30gram of flash... Are you sure about that? In what we call a "nitraat" (I think it is nitrate) is 2 gram of flash powder, and that bangs pretty hard... Thanks for the information! I hope I can go to that place in my vacation...

A question though; what were you trying to blow up using that huge amount of flashpowder? I mean; a very much smaller amount of flashpowder, like 30 to 50 grams, would already make a very impressive salute. So why use that exorbitant amount of SAS? Lot's of other practical issues enter my mind thinking of that bomb you made, but I better not write them down, because this is by no means a DIY or Bombmaking forum. To me this looks like a practise (far) beyond pyro-technics. But ofcourse you are free to disagree with me.

I understand your opinion.But in Italy we have other tradition about fireworks.
You keep in mind what happen in Italy on the end of every year.Big bombs are avaiable and lighted in every countries.
Our tradition is to light bigs crakers at those time.
You are right when say it's far beyond pyrotechnics.But I can assure that make an incredible adrenalin discharge.
However , this type of bombs are lighted far from houses.Nobody have problems.

I understand your opinion.But in Italy we have other tradition about fireworks.

in short, i said that i find it hard to believe that the bombs you are talking abou contains 30/40 gr SAS and is legal.... the napolitan bombs from italy contains 33 gr SAS and are very illigal there. and cakes with 6" shells... that would make one hell of a cake, to big to lift it without a truck.
so please some pictures before i believe

It weight about 70 kg and i pay it about 280 euros
