Illegal fireworks worth $60 th were seized as part of "Pyrotechnics" action held by police in Krasnoyarsk Territory on Dec. 1-9 and on Dec. 20-30, 2006. 131 legal entities and 298 physical bodies engaged in pyrotechnics business were checked up, which helped to reveal 146 violations of certification rules. 189 reports about administrative offenses were drawn up; more than 110 thousand items of pyrotechnical goods worth $60 th were seized.
Moreover, 82 guns were seized from illegal turnover during the periods of the action. 27 guns were turned in voluntary by citizens.
Most of violations in the sale of pyrotechnical goods were registered in Krasnoyarsk, chief regional interior department stated.
According to the Burns Center, no serious injuries to health were registered in 2006. However, on Jan. 7 a teenager suffered a slight burn of his hand, he is in hospital now.
19 people were injured as a result of using pyrotechnical goods in 1999, ten – in 2000, 2 – in 2001 and 2002 each, one in 2003 and 2005 each, with no accidents in 2004.
