HORICON - Fireworks will wrap up the Rockin' River Jam in Horicon this year.

The fireworks display, referred to by event chairman Bob Raney as 'spectacular,' is being solely sponsored by Horicon Bank, now celebrating its 110th year of being in business in the city.

"We are just thrilled and truly appreciate Horicon Bank's contribution," Raney said. "Having the fireworks display is something that we have wanted to have back on the program schedule for years."

The committee met Tuesday night to go over and to continue plans for the three-day celebration that this year has been moved from the last weekend in July to June 14 to16.

The committee, which includes representatives from the American Legion, chamber of commerce, Fireball Club, Kiwanis Club, Lions Club and Rotary Club, is fine tuning the festival's schedule.

Raney anticipates the committee will finalize details at the Feb. 20, meeting.

A noon parade had already been eliminated because of its high cost, although the more popular events will still be offered.

These include the Horicon Marsh Queen contest, citizen of the year presentation, the taste of Horicon, the carnival and rides, music, the kiddie parade and city-wide rummage sales.
