De kooi op het plein is al in opbouw, twee weken eerder dan te doen gebruikelijk. Heeft te maken met de plaatsing van een dak boven de kooi, zulks om te voorkomen dat tijdens de corda ongeleide projectielen de kooi verlaten.
This will be the cordà of the Plaza del Ayuntamiento
It will last 20 minutes and 60 expert rocketers from Paterna will participate

On Thursday, the Consistory of Valencia unveiled the
calendar of Fallas pyrotechnic shots and one of the main novelties of this edition is that on the night of February 26, the Plaza del Ayuntamiento will be the scene of a
cordà , a gunpowder show that has great masters in Paterna.
That is why the Cap i Casal City Council has entrusted this project to the municipality of l'Horta where they are in full celebration of the
recognition of the cordà as an Asset of Intangible Cultural Interest .
At the presentation gala of the shooting program, it was not detailed how this event was going to be, but there are already big questions that are resolved.
The show, which will be held on Saturday 26 at 9:30 p.m. , will take place in the central part of the Plaza del Ayuntamiento and although when the paterneros organize it they do it outdoors on Calle Mayor, in the case of Valencia, has decided to place it inside the cage or fences of the mascletà.
In addition, an upper grille will be placed on the roof for that day so that the rockets cannot leave the enclosure. In fact, it may be that this was one of the reasons why
the assembly of this cage has been advanced fifteen days .
As for the participants, as explained by the Councilor for Tourism, Culture and Fire of Paterna, Teresa Espinosa, "there will be sixty who will be inside the enclosure firing rockets and there will be another ten people to support and control security."
The event will last
20 minutes and rockets, rockets and femelletes will be used. "In total, 342 kilos of gunpowder will be used distributed in 35 boxes inside a covered metal infrastructure of 600 square meters in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento", they add from the Consistory of Paterna chaired by Juan Antonio Sagredo.
It should be noted that in one of the cordàs held on the last Sunday of August in Paterna, 1,000 kilos of gunpowder are used, with some 70,000 rockets, but in this case, the show has been concentrated in 342 kilos and between 22,000 will be used and 23,000 rockets, according to Teresa Espinosa.
Regarding the choice of participants, it is an issue that has to be analyzed in the sectoral council of the cordà de Paterna, but all will be holders of the Consumer Recognized as Expert (CRE) card of entities such as Intercomparsas, Interpenyes, brotherhood of the Cristo de la Fe and San Vicente, the Local Fallera Board of Paterna, and expert neighbors of the town, all of them with several years of experience in the cordà.
As detailed by the Councilor for Tourism, Culture and Fire of Paterna, «first there will be an introduction so that people know the importance of the declaration of the cordà as an Asset of Intangible Cultural Interest. The tradition and the show will be explained and then the rockets will take center stage ».
As tradition dictates, the experts will go with leather jumpsuits, boots, helmets, gloves and earplugs . «First a bugle passes and warns that you have to put on your helmets and gloves. Then the major rocket, who is now Vicente Pla, passes with a green flare, so that everyone is attentive and situated, when he has already turned around with the flare, he returns to the point of origin, lights a firecracker with femelletes and rockets and they begin to fire the rockets”, details Espinosa.
When the end of the show is near, it is well noticed with a red flare so that they can hurry up with the shots and conclude the show of light and color.
As for the
public , at the moment the contingency plan is being seen to see if the distance of the spectators is the same as that of the mascletaes.
The Mayor of Paterna, Juan Antonio Sagredo, and the Councilor for Tourism, Culture and Fire, Teresa Espinosa, have been grateful and proud of "this alliance of fire between cities that will allow us to bring the cordà from Paterna to Valencia and fill the Turia capital of 'Foc, Foc i Foc' with the firing of 342 kilos of gunpowder».
In addition, they add that "we cannot think of a better place to enjoy the millor cordà del món, after the Calle Mayor de Paterna, than the Plaza del Ayuntamiento de Valencia, so emblematic for Valencians and so representative for pyrotechnics".
