This has been a much awaited event here in my country. I heard the budget for each shows was 20,000 dollars! The shows last for 20 minutes!
Here's the current schedule but the final one would come out first week of february! :D

When searching the internet I found the official website of the World Pyro Olympics events, but their website is out of date!

According to news reports, the schedule of the World Pyro (WPO), which is annually held in Manila, will be held at the Bay Area of the Mall of Asia in Pasay City from February 16 to March 15, 2008.
The third world pyro olympics will still be held in the bay area of Mall of Asia , Philippines. This year La mancha pyro productions promises all of us for a bigger and better World Pyro olympics. This would be done because of the nice mix of competitors from Asia, Europe, South America and from Australia. Some countries will be making a return from the old competitions and exhibitions while some are new in the competition. France and Venezuela are the 2 new countries that would be joining the World Pyro olympics. Italy and Japan would be making their returns from World pyro olympics exhibition held before!

World Pyro Olympics


World Pyro Olympics, or Pyro Olympics, as it is popularly known, is a world championship and an international firework competition. It is an annual event and has the most popular and high profile fireworks companies as the participants. This competition is organized for five consecutive days and attracts a large number of tourists from all over the world, who come to enjoy the beauty, where the dark of the night is lit up by colorful and bright lights.
The World Pyro Olympics is the largest fireworks competition of the world. It is also among the most popular international events. The first World Pyro Olympics was organized in the year December 2005 in Philippines. The country of Philippines also hosted the second edition of the tournament in January 2007. The La Mancha group of Philippines was the host company in
both editions of this Olympics of fireworks. The third Pyro Olympics is also to take place in Philippines in January 2008.


The two champions in the first two versions of the competitions were Australia and the United Kingdom respectively. Some of the major teams in the two Pyro Olympic Games were as follows:

- Show FX of Australia
- Bright Star Fireworks of Denmark
- Westcoast Fireworks Ltd. Of the United Kingdom

Due to the holy week being on the way in the old schedule, the event was moved to March 29, 2008! And According to the La Mancha Pyro Productions, this schedule will be sure! :D The event will still be held in the philippines, Behind the famous Mall of Asia, Nowadays this place behind the mall of asia is called the Esplanade or San Miguel by the bay! The fireworks are fired from a barge in the manila bay! And yes some of the competitors use water fireworks! :D
