Batch 2024:
Translated:
Like the moths, this is an item that had been planned for a long time but was never produced because the Chinese market was doing well and the factory wasn't interested in producing such small vortices. Only since the Chinese market has been struggling have they freed up capacity.

Here too, some of the boxes still have the 2021 batch number, as the packaging has been sitting around since then.
When the item was finally produced this year, we had meanwhile increased the quantities to meet the higher demand, so there's also a box with the current batch number, which has also been slightly modified visually.

Back then, ascending vortices of this size were available as Class 1 children's fireworks, which were always among my favorite fireworks when I was young. I used to buy loads of fire wasps with my Grandma Funke at the kiosk. Unfortunately, that's no longer possible these days. But our version is also small and doesn't make much noise, so it probably won't bother anyone when they're lit ;)

It was important to me that the little firecrackers fly properly again, like they used to, with the longest possible burn time and good ascent. The firecrackers you can still buy these days usually just have flat, glued-on wings on a shabby brown casing and barely fly anymore.
I think we've succeeded quite well in terms of performance, and the firecrackers reach the quality of the little flyers from the 80s/90s, although, as before, the small wings are sometimes slightly bent, which prevents them from flying properly. Here too, you get a box of 10 for a really good price. So I'm quite satisfied with the product.

The only downside is that the factory wouldn't label the casings for such a small item, so we had to use printed casings where you can see the red clay at the end, but that was the case with the firecrackers I remember from back then, too. However, one problem that bothers me a little is that the cartridge cases are already printed, and the position of the fuse hole is random, since the workers can't align the case perfectly every time. Consequently, unlike the dummies in the video, the print isn't always facing upwards; it's all a matter of chance, which unfortunately makes many of them look less than ideal. I still wanted to keep the design close to the classic look of the past.

Back then, each cartridge case was individually labeled by hand after the fuse was attached, which is why the label alignment was better. These days, you can't find anyone willing to do that work anymore, but all the wings and fuses are still attached individually by hand, which makes the production process very labor-intensive.
