ORGANISERS are promising a "best ever" Caldecote Steam Party - an event which attracts thousands of visitors every year to a hamlet on the outskirts of Nuneaton.
The two-day festival, this weekend, traditionally attracts up to 10,000 visitors to farmland off the A444 at Caldecote, the tiny community which is a short tractor ride from Weddington.
Vintage steam engine, traction engine and tractor enthusiasts have been converging on the area for three decades, bringing their models from all over the UK to put on display.
Headlining this year's 33rd annual show will be a pyrotechnic display - featuring fireworks and propane flames - which, organisers say, is sure to ignite the imagination of the crowds.
Pat Murfin, one of the organisers, said: "It should be spectacular, but people should not fear. The sequence will be carefully managed by a special effects team who have worked on The Bill and Emmerdale."
