The first large mass event of the Fallas 2023 and which last year brought together 18,000 people has had to be postponed. This is the great mascletà of Benicalap , organized by a pyrotechnic union of fallas commissions from Benicalap. For years the Federació d'Amics de la Pólvora de Benicalap (Benifap) has been organizing this event, but this time it will have to be postponed because it has not been possible to carry out all the activities that make up the macromascletà. It was scheduled to take place on Saturday 25 at 9:00 p.m. on Avenida del Levante Unión Deportiva in the Benicalap neighborhood.

The Valencia City Council has only given permission to celebrate a part of the event, but not all that Benifap had raised. After the meeting that the Federation has held with pyrotechnics and other associations, it has been concluded that it is best to postpone the act until it can be held as planned. The date that allows them to obtain all the permits may be that of San Juan, which was already chosen last year .

From Benifap they assure that everything possible has been done so that the event is held on the scheduled date, but it has not been possible once the allegations presented before the Valencian City Council have been dismissed. In this way, the Valencians seem to have to wait several months to be able to celebrate the macromascletà festival in the Benicalap neighborhood .

Ricardo Caballer will once again shoot a mascletà and a castle this Saturday​

Ricardo Caballer , one of the most emblematic and recognized pyrotechnicians in the history of the Fallas de València , announced his retirement and warned that these fallas would no longer trigger any mascletà or any castle.

However, Caballer's followers will have another opportunity this Saturday to enjoy both a mascletà and a fireworks display set off by the Valencian. However, it will not be in Valencia, but in Bétera .

This same Saturday, February 25, the Ricasa fireworks will fire a mascletà at 2:00 p.m. Later, at 8:00 p.m. , the fireworks display will be shot . The two pyrotechnic shots are part of a charity event for the benefit of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) .
