John Sagaria display "Wizards of Winter"

This was my favorite display of the whole week. John Sagaria has come out over the last few years, helping either a company or a guild produce and shoot a great PGI display. This year he came out alone, with his own small crew, to shoot a short display. This show was just fantastic from every angle. Including one aspect that you cannot see on the video tape.

Obviously, the fireworks and choreography are GREAT! The part that you can't see is how the whole PGI event is laid out, and how John had it set up to spray fake snow ALL OVER the PGI grandstands seating area. He calls his show "Wizards of Winter" and makes mention of cold in the start of the display. Nobody thinks anything of it, seeing as how PGI happens in August, while it's hot even at night time.

About mid way though the show, when you hear the crowd start to roar.. he has multiple "snow blasters" shooting shredded white tissue paper-like material all over the PGI seating bleachers. I was seated almost directly under one of the snow blasters. Myself and the people around me were all covered well in short time. By the time they shut them down, there was approx 1/2" to 3/4" of tissue paper covering EVERYTHING! It looked like snow in August!

I've never seen anything like this before, so for creativity, design, execution, quality, excitement.. this show ranks high in every category. -- Wish you could have been there!

That john sagaria is a mad man.
What awsome idea's does he have, especialy the final.
First a christmas song with a christmas tree in august and after that the whole stadium was enlighted by those tail salutes:9
he alsow shows what high speed single shot candles and mines are.

This was one hell of a show, thanxs for sharing mate!

The silver comets are Silver Breaking Glass from ACE Pyro in Michigan. They are truly breathtaking IRL and are very popular for fronts as John used them in his show.

Very original and surprising show. I can think of some other music from TSO which is VERY suitable for pyromusicals. (better than the one chosen now)

Hope to see some more of this guy, he's pretty nuts, in a good way :p

I might have the video of last years display that he designed. I think it was called "pyro radio show" or somthing to that effect. It was pretty darn good too!

If I have a version that does not belong to one of the video makers who sells DVD's for money - I'll rip and post it later on.

This was one of my favorites during PGI and thank gosh I have finally found a video of this display, haven't watched it yet though, the corporate firewall here at work seems to prevent that! However it's first on the list when I get home this evening. EXCITED!!

My favorite show this year(or ever for that matter). John's also a very nice guy. I was out in the field working on another display while John and Crew were setting up.

This is the best show I have seen. Worth the trip to Wisconsin, nothing really extraordinary about shells used but what a great presentation.
