Ik denk back to basic.

Ximo Puig lowers the euphoria of the July and October Fallas is the other option

The President of the Generalitat believes that it is difficult to foresee what will happen and the transfer to October 9, at the weekend, is an option.

The President of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, assured yesterday that the celebration of the Fallas in July is still far from being a reality. In fact, it has quarantined the claim. In statements to Spanish Television, he explained that "the city council proposed to hold them in mid-July, but at the moment it is very risky to know what will happen in the coming months."

The consistory took just 24 hours from the suspension of the celebrations to accommodate a plan B for the 2020 Fallas, consisting of using the same dates within four months, although pending a remodeling of the celebration program, especially those that are conditioned by The high temperatures. To carry it out, there is a margin of four months for the entire upward and downward process of the pandemic to occur and a subsequent normalization of city life.

The President of the Generalitat assured that "at the moment it is very risky to know what will happen in the coming months. There is the will to celebrate the 2020 Fallas this year, but it depends a lot on how we are able to defeat this pandemic. It is very sad that the streets have been deserted and the anguish that affects us all because it is the end of a year's work. »

Plan B would be closer to the month of October, taking advantage of the bridge on days 9 and 12, regional and national holidays, respectively, which would leave another full weekend, with a children's plant on Thursday and cremà on Monday.

This other date also has its drawbacks, because it would overlap the dates of one exercise and another. In fact, by October, important events in the life of the commissions should already be taking place, such as cultural weeks and the appointment of the falleras mayores. There would also be the thorny issue of choosing the Falleras Mayores de València, who would suffer a delay in time until November at the latest, just as it was in the 1990s.

Some voices have been heard so far in this regard, beyond doubts about the heat it will be in July, something that, in any case, is nothing more than extrapolating the temperatures of Alicante in the middle of the Hogueras party. They had come, in any case, from suppliers: orchestras, pyrotechnics ... who question whether they could reach all orders in the height of the high season. Also some in civil society, such as the political veteran of Izquierda Unida and former president of Falla Roberto Ruiz, who argued in this sense that "the Fallas exercises of the commissions, at the accounting level, should begin in April to count the quotas for the next exercise. It would only be necessary to hold a balance meeting to account for the costs caused by this temporary suspension of the fallera week. The falleras mayores and commission chairs would continue in their positions until the week following the celebration of the Fallas in October. Let us remember that many commissions do not have representatives until after the summer, so this date would not change the internal calendar of the fallas too much.

On the other hand, yesterday began the second part of the operation to remove the pieces from the workshops. Specifically, the commissions had until yesterday to indicate if they needed an official space to transfer their fallas. So much so, that it was warned that, if you do not request it, from now on it will be understood that the storage is borne by the commissions themselves (regardless of the fact that they will be paid the transportation costs),

The same is true of the Ninot Exhibition. The city council is going to proceed to withdraw and keep the figures as the circumstances warrant. In any case, the alternatives were for the artists themselves to take them away to store them on their own or to collect and store them by the municipal services at Feria València, La Marina or any other municipal warehouse.

Yesterday, the municipal falla woke up, receiving the impact of the fine rain waiting for its dismantling to begin.

The official figures of those affected by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic continue to increase in the Valencian Community - yesterday nine more deaths, six in Alicante and three in Valencia, and another 184 new positives - and it seems that the trend will continue being the same at least for the entire next week and even early the next.

These are the dates on which the peak of the epidemic could occur, as predicted yesterday for the first time by the Minister of Health, Ana Barceló, citing sources from the Ministry of Health. From now to then, if the forecasts of the government specialists are fulfilled, the total number of positives will not stop rising.

For now, the daily number of new positive cases remains high and today has exceeded the 216 registered on March 15, with 258 new infections. It has contributed notably to the fact that during the whole week, the slightest cases are not being tested or accounted for and that they remain directly isolated in their homes following orders from the Ministry of Health.
Hence, all the new cases that are being registered, 258 today, are among the most complicated, which has a direct reflection on the numbers of hospitalized and people in the ICU. According to official data, yesterday there were 378 people hospitalized, 26% more than the day before and, of them, there are 71 serious in any ICU, 20% more than the day before: eleven more people in Valencia and one in Castelló .

In fact, with the latest data update, the Valencian Community presents a balance that could be contradictory: it remains with a low incidence of the disease and is among the least affected regions in relation to its number of inhabitants but, on the other hand, it is and the second in number of seriously ill patients in the ICU, only behind the Madrid region, where they already have 678 people in intensive care.
The explanation lies in the lack of detection and registration of the mildest cases and the existence of two large outbreaks in two nursing homes, the most vulnerable group, and which requires taking hospitalization or even intensive care measures much earlier.

Barceló tempered yesterday by recalling that the Valencian system still has a lung to welcome patients, more or less serious, and that measures had not yet been implemented here to select who could enter the ICU and who could not, as is already being done in some Madrid hospital of the most collapsed.

In the coming days and as soon as the new protocol is implemented to retest the Covid-19 in all cases, even if they have mild symptoms, it is expected that the cases will increase with greater intensity but the percentage of severe cases will be lower and more similar to the data recorded in China: of all the infected, 80% had mild symptoms, 15% needed hospitalization and 5% were severe cases. Now, ICU cases are 6.4% of all positives.

Massa-bijeenkomsten dus mogelijk nog lange tijd not done.
