To Scorrano, a country of the province of Lecce, in Italy, from 5 to the 7 July of every year, the abitants and the Comitato Festa Patronale give life to that that is considered the most greater festa patronale of Italy: Santa Domenica.
One of the most beautiful demonstrations of culture and popular religiousness of the world. The concerts of the bands, the procession, the fireworks displays, but above all the marvelous and gigantic illuminations are the peculiarities of this feast. This year will see how protagonists some among the best pyrotechnic of Italy. Everything this happens in the most important day of the feast: on July 6.
I am watching these movies at the moment.
Great image and sound quality. My compliments!
Edit: Too bad you're still having problems with focussing in the evening.
@NLsandman: You'd better believe those salutes are "only" 4 inch. The Italians just know how to make really good salutes. :-)

Looks like he's using zoom and has then to focus manualy.
I've tryed that ones but found it very difficult to keep the image sharp.
Maybe fuokista has to use infinty and less zoom.
Those 4 inch salutes on the picture, are they cased in metal maybe that's why they sound so loud?

Nope, they mostly use nothing more than just paper, glue and hemp twine.
Sometimes (and in this case as well), they prefer prefabricated plastic hemispheres or cilinders.
They just use are very good (and sensitive) mixture of chemicals.
