  ENGLISH - On the 8th of October we went to see the evening display of Garuda (Pirotecnia Arnal). Which was shot in the well-known riverbed. In the afternoon we went to the area to make the necessary pictures of the set-up. Unfortunately they already finished the set-up and covered everything nicely with foil. The area was also not accessible anymore and therefore we made some picture from a distance. What we did notice was that the set-up was different then what we are used to during Fallas, not towards the bridge but turned towards the sides.
Now the show itself, we were behind the bridge and this off course means we missed the full width of the fireworks. Different then we are used to the announcement started with 2 Ring bombs. The show starts with a couple of different sorts of peonies, among them Green Peony with Blinker, Green Peony with Crackling and Red Peony with Blue Pistil. We also see some Silver Kamuro. This whole series is being combined with a couple of Shell in Shell Salutes.
In the next part we get to see Peonies in different colours, like for example orange, blue, blue with crackling, red and purple. Each colour is ended by a salvo of shells. The shells were not all evenly good and I missed the bright colors we are used to see in Spain.
Luckily after this we get to see some nice effect, like the Bow-Tie effect in combination with Red Falling Leaves. Unfortunately after these effects, we go to a series of peonies again. The only thing worth mentioning are the multicolour Peonies assisted by multicolour Palm trees, which was shot somewhere in the middle of this series.
In the middle part of the display we see a variety of different Peonies in combination with Palm tree effects passing by. These are being interrupted by a series of Golden Kamuros.
 Just when you start to think you will get to see a certain effect, we get pleasantly surprised with a couple of figures. One of which I haven’t seen before or didn’t pay attention to it in the past, the Double Heart effect. We also see a combination of Star figures, Ring with Pistil and Double Rings passing by. After this we get to see the “gold” part of this display. Gold Kamuros and underneath them Gold Mines. Followed once again by Gold Kamuros, which were very dark, supported by Green Falling Leaves. From here we move on the finale, and a gold finale it would be. At least that is what I thought!!! We get to see a lot of gold and it al looks like a finale, this you can also hear by the applause of the crowd. But nothing is what it seems, after a short break the finale starts. It’s a multicoloured one assisted by the necessary salutes off course. Finished? No, during the applause a bunch of salutes rises to the sky, underneath them we see blue mines and whistle. After a short interruption, we see salutes with red and green stars. To finish everything off salutes with red mines with whistle.
What I missed with this display are two components. The first one is the diversity of effects. Sure we have seen a lot of different Peonies, but after a while we get a little bit bored despite of the various colours and effects.
The second component en definitely not the least important is the finale. We really miss the climax. Up to four times during the display the audience is being confused by the short interruptions.
I’d rather choose a finale, which is easy to recognize by the audience and let off everything in a chain without the breaks.

Op 8 oktober zijn we naar de avondshow van Garuda (Pirotecnia Arnal) gaan kijken. Deze werd geschoten in de welbekende rivieredding. In de middag zijn we nog even naar het terrein gelopen om de nodige foto’s van de opbouw te maken. Helaas was alles al klaar en netjes bedekt met folie. Het terrein was dus ook niet toegangkelijk, dus hebben we maar foto’s van een afstandje gemaakt. Wat ons opviel was dat de opstelling ditmaal helaas anders dan we met Fallas gewend zijn, niet naar de brug toe gericht maar een kwartslag gedraaid.
Tijd voor de show zelf, we stonden achter de brug en dit betekende uiteraard dat we tijdens de show de volle breedte van het vuurwerk moesten missen. Anders dan we gewend zijn, begon de aankondiging van de show met 2 ringbommen. De show begint met een aantal verschillende soorten peonies, waaronder Green Peony with Blinker, Green Peony with Crackling en Red Peony with Blue Pistil. Ook zien we de Silver Kamuro. Het geheel van deze reeks wordt gecombineerd met een aantal shells in shell salutes.
In het volgende onderdeel krijgen we Peonies te zien in verschillende kleuren, zoals onder andere oranje, blauw, blauw met crackling, rode en paarse. Waarbij elke kleur wordt beeindigd met een salvo. De bommen waren niet allemaal even goed en miste ik een beetje de heldere kleuren die we in Spanje gewend zijn. Gelukkig krijgen we hierna een aantal leuke effecten te zien zoals het Bow-tie effect in combinatie met rode Falling Leaves. Helaas gaat dit weer over tot een hele reeks peonies Het enige noemenswaardige hieraan waren de multicolour Peonies geassisteerd door multicolour Palmtree die halverwege dit gedeelte werden geschoten.
In het middenstuk van de show blijft het een afwisseling van verschillende Peonies in combinatie van Palmtree effecten. Deze wordt echter wel even onderbroken door gouden Kamuros.
Net wanneer men weer een bepaald effect verwacht wordt men aangenaam verrast met een aantal figuurbommen. Waaronder een effect welke ik zelf nog niet had gezien, of me nog niet was opgevallen. Het “Double Heart” effect. Ook zien we sterren, ringen met pistil en dubbele ringen voorbij komen. Vervolgens komen we aan bij het “gouden” gedeelte van de show zelf. gouden Kamuros met daaronder gouden mines. Nogmaals gevolgd door gouden Kamuros welke erg donker waren in combinatie met groene Falling Leaves. Vanuit hier gaan we de finale in, het kan ook niet anders een goude finale, althans dat dacht ik!!! Je krijgt een hoop goud te zien en het oogt ook allemaal als een finale en dat merkt men ook aan het applaus van het publiek. Maar niets is minder waar, na een kleine onderbreking wordt de finale in gang gezet.
Het is een bonte finale geassisteerd door de nodige salutes. Klaar zal men denken? Nee tijdens het applaus gaat een hele reeks salutes de lucht in met daaronder blauwe mines en fluit. Na een korte tussenpoze een salvo van salutes met rode en groene sterren en als laatste salutes ,met rode mines en fluit.
Wat ik bij deze show miste zijn twee onderdelen. De eerste daarvan is de diversiteit van de effecten. Tuurlijk we hebben een hoop verschillende peonies gezien, maar op den duur gaat dat toch vervelen ondanks dat de kleuren en uitwerkingen net weer anders waren.
Het tweede en zeker niet onbelangrijk is de finale. Je mist nu echt de climax, het publiek wordt vier keer in verwarring gebracht door de onderbrekingen. Kies liever voor een finale die voor het publiek duidelijk te herkennen is en laat alles in een keer achter elkaar doorgaan.
